Student Pharmacist Travel Grant Winners Announced
The American College of Apothecaries (ACA), International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists (IACP), and American College of Veterinary Pharmacists (ACVP) are pleased to award travel grants to four pharmacy student members to attend the 2017 ACA / IACP / ACVP Educational Conference, from February 21-25, 2017, in Coronado, CA.
ACA Foundation CEO Donnie Calhoun, RPh, FACA, FACVP, sees the commitment to pharmacy students as an important investment in the future of pharmacy. “Today’s students are tomorrow’s pharmacy owners,” he explains. “Right now, we’re in the position to give them a helping hand while they are just beginning their careers and, more importantly, expose them to the important role our three pharmacy organizations—ACA, ACVP, and IACP—play in supporting independent pharmacy.”
IACP Foundation President Lisa Ashworth, RPh, FACA was struck by the grant recipients’ drive and commitment to pharmacy. “This is another strong group of students. They thoroughly impressed our selection committee with their vision of their future roles as advocates for independent pharmacy, compounding, and involvement in professional organizations. I’m looking forward to meeting them next month in California and following their careers in the years to come. The Boards look forward to showing them how pharmacy organizations operate and helping them grow as leaders.”
